At Hayesfield, we feel it is extremely important that the views of all students in the school are represented and heard. This is why every year the students elect two School Council representatives from every year group to form the School Council. Lead by our Head Girl, the School Council representatives meet weekly to discuss improvements the students would like to introduce to their school… we call this the “Student Voice”.
In previous years, the School Council, led by the Head Girl, consulted all the students in the school about Hayesfield’s school image. The students came up with so many wonderful ideas from the colours they liked, to the style of jumper, blazer and whether or not they would like to wear a tie. From consulting students and staff, proposing designs, voting on favourite ideas, costings, production timings and the subsequent need to change our image in our brochures and website – the School Council were at the heart of the change. We now have a new uniform designed by the girls for the girls and worn with pride!
