The City of Bath Schools’ Alliance is a partnership that exists between Beechen Cliff and Hayesfield, recognising the original names of the two schools and celebrating their successful educational provision in the City of Bath. Both schools originated in The Guildhall in the 1890s and moved to their current sites in the 1930s. Since their creation, Beechen Cliff and Hayesfield schools have had a long history of working together. Both have served the city of Bath for many decades, both hold a strong reputation for academic success and both have an ethos which celebrates individuality and promotes the development of character.
Single sex education is a very appealing educational choice, bringing as it does specialist and focussed teaching that meets the needs that are unique to boys or to girls. Both schools are committed to working in partnership with each other so that, together, we can achieve even more for the boys and girls in our care. A strong partnership between the two schools ensures that more girls and boys from both schools have opportunities to enrich their curricular and extra-curricular experiences. Our Alliance enables us to work together to share the strengths of each school, creating even more opportunities for students, staff and parents. Strong foundations have been laid over time, and now, together, the Governing Bodies of both schools will build even better futures for the boys and girls in the city of Bath.
