Ignite Day: British Values

Tuesday 13th March 2018

Year 7 are to wear School PE kit all day and should not come in normal uniform.

Learning Objective

The Ignite cross-curricular days provide Hayesfield students a unique opportunity to expand their learning, develop key skills and to explore the relevance of a wide range of topics. Themes and activities are designed to support our students’ Spiritual, Social Moral and Cultural development (SMSC) and provide effective opportunities to develop study skills and positive attitudes to their learning.

The aim of our third Ignite Day is to help develop our students’ understanding and appreciation of our British Values as well as provide further opportunities to work and engage with students outside of their House.

Activities are delivered on a rolling programme across each year group giving all students a range of activities and experiences over their time at Hayesfield. Most activities are staff-led and reflect the wider skills, experiences and knowledge which they bring to the programme. In Years 11 and 12 specialists outside speakers are used to offer expert opinions and advice or to share their relevant experience. In Year 11 students will undertake a range of activities designed to develop their study and revision skills in preparation for their upcoming summer exams.
