Roads to Recovery – War Hospitals of the West Country

Recently Bath based Natural Theatre Company have been working with students from Hayesfield Girls’ School and Mixed Sixth form on a performance project exploring the role of Bath as a field hospital during the first world war. Injured soldiers were met at Green Park Station and then cared for by nurses and doctors in the city, often in tented encampments. Working with History and Drama students the Natural Theatre Company created scenarios which were spontaneously acted out as street theatre performances both inthe city and around Hayesfield itself.
