Hayesfield Mixed Sixth Form Open Evening
Wednesday 10th November 2021, 6:00pm – Upper Oldfield Park Campus
I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to try out some lessons on Sixth Form Taster Day. I am delighted to invite you to join us at our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 10th November.
Our Open Evening will start from 5.45pm with main talks starting at 6.00pm. Below, you will find a programme for the evening to help you plan what you would like to see and when. When you arrive you will also receive a prospectus with lots of information and questions answered.
Moving into the Sixth Form gives you the opportunity to develop your learning in a different way, have a fresh start, enjoy new freedom and privileges but within the security of a school who can support you effectively. Being a Sixth Former means you can enjoy the social life of the Sixth Form, including the Year 12 Residential to Hooke Court in Dorset; Yule Ball; the legendary Sixth Form Panto and of course the Prom! You can also challenge yourself with the Gold DofE, or join World Challenge Expeditions. There are so many leadership opportunities available to make an impact on our school community and lead real change at a school level and beyond.
At Hayesfield you already know can enjoy the best facilities in the city. We have two Sixth Form Common Rooms and study areas for Sixth Formers on both campuses, so there is plenty of space for you to work and spend time with your friends (both old and new). We have the broadest range of qualifications available in the city with a huge range of success at A Level together with a growing choice of applied qualifications.
Our results in 2021 saw our students passing their A Levels with superb results. Our Sixth Formers made amazing next steps with two heading to Oxbridge, four into Medicine, over half off to Russell Group type Universities with others taking up excellent University courses in subjects such as Languages, Law and Mathematics. More than 15 students are continuing their creative studies with Art Foundation courses and many students have gained exciting employment in fields as diverse as Hospitality, Retail Management and Health Care.
If you have more questions about subjects and life in Sixth Form before the Open Evening please click on the Sixth Form Open Events banner on the front page of our website. Here you will be able to find films about subjects and resources and Sixth Form life!
Online applications are open from 10th November until Monday 13th December. The link to apply can be found via the Sixth Form Open Event page on our website, and also within the “How to Apply” page.
We hope to see you on the evening and if I do not get the opportunity to speak to you directly then, I look forward to meeting you early in 2022 to discuss your subject choices and future ambitions.
