Student Leadership

There are many different ways to get involved in the running of the school at Hayesfield during your time here at Hayesfield. Opportunities present themselves in Years 7-13. For example, you could become a Tutor rep, a House rep, a Sports rep, a Character Mentor, School Magazine editor… the list goes on. Ask you tutor about the opportunities available to you and get involved!

Key to the success of our school is the role of the student leadership body. This year it is being led by a dynamic Sixth Form Student Leadership Team (6SLT), supported by a strong Prefect body of students who will help drive change across the school, whilst organising fun activities for you to get involved with.

13Bella Heenan6SLT Head Student
Hi! I’m Bella Heenan and I am your Head Student for 2021-22! I am studying Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Core Maths with aspirations to study Medicine at university. I enjoy contemporary dancing as well as playing the piano in my spare time and I am also one of the current senior leads at CCF! My role as Head Student focuses on coordinating group discussions with 6SLT and working together to provide the best student leadership in the school alongside acting as the school’s spokesperson. I look forward to working with 6SLT and other members of the school over the next year!
13Sarina Maloy6SLT Student Engagement
Hey! I’m Sarina Maloy, and I’m studying English Literature, History and Psychology at A Level. I love to read and public speak to really have an educated voice for what I believe in, and as Student Engagement I can’t wait to do that for the student body as a whole! I can’t wait to form close relationships with students in all year groups via mentoring, managing Prefects and the School Council, especially after the whirlwind year we’ve had! Outside of school I love to sing, figure skate and listen to lots of Taylor Swift. Please come and speak to me any time or send me an email if there’s anything you would like to say, and I will be sure to make your voice heard throughout the school!
13Izzy Kinson 6SLT Student Engagement
Hi, I’m Izzy Kinson and I am one of your new Student Engagement Leads (SELs)! As part of this role, we do lots to help around the school, from running school events, to being responsible for the prefects and helping to run the School Council. We are also tasked with working on the relationship within Year 12 and 13, organising Year 7 Camp Aunts and Uncles, and more! My A Levels are English Language, Philosophy and Ethics, Psychology, and EPQ. Outside of school, I spend my time doing extracurricular activities such as ballet and lacrosse, but I also have a job working at an independent bookshop. Please feel free to email me at any time, or simply find me around school, and I will do my best to help you!
13Pim Sullivan-Tailyour 6SLT Climate Leads
Hello! I’m Pim Sullivan-Tailyour and will be this year’s Climate Leader alongside Eva. One of the reasons I went for this role is the breadth of what we can do within the school, from the built environment to the people within it. I hope to study Environmental Sciences at university and this role helps me channel my passion, where we get to do lots of research but also speak to many people. We have many plans ahead such as declaring a climate emergency, projects that cover different aspects of the school, and the climate conference, which will be held by Hayesfield next year. I’m excited to work with the Climate Committee and teachers to generate new ideas to bring the school closer to combating climate change. Thank you and look out for our projects that will be surfacing next academic year!
13Eva Galise 6SLT Climate Leads
Hi! I am Eva Galise and I take Product Design, Maths, Physics and an EPQ. I am one of the new Climate Leads for the coming year, and I want to help Hayesfield reduce their carbon footprint, so that we can reach the goal of reaching net zero carbon by 2030. It will be great working with the Climate Committee and coming up with lots of ideas as a team. The most important initiative will be to declare a Climate Emergency at Hayesfield- which will involve introducing creative, but practical projects. I want to study Design Engineering at university, so I will make sure to prioritise making sustainable products.
13Jenny Kaye6SLT Community - Internal
Hi, I’m Jenny Kaye. I am studying Spanish, History, English Literature and I’m doing an EPQ. I’m an Internal Community Lead, meaning I organise and lead House and School events and aim to increase integration between the Year Groups. I also work with the Character Mentors on the wellbeing aspect of their roles. We’re open to everyone’s ideas so feel free to contact us if you have any ideas you have for any events or activities.
13Lucy Back 6SLT Community – Internal
Hi, my name is Lucy Back and I take Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I am an Internal Community Lead within 6SLT, which means I work with the rest of the Community Team to coordinate events and initiatives to bring the school together. As a team we can't wait to hold plenty of events over the next year, especially after the past months have been so hard on everyone, so if you have any questions or ideas please don't hesitate to get in contact!
13Sophie Hookings 6SLT Community - External
Hi, I’m Sophie Hookings and I take PE, Dance, Psychology and Spanish. My ambition is to become a Psychologist. My role within 6SLT is being part of the External Community Leaders. We aim to achieve a greater integration between Hayesfield and the wider community and organise a variety of projects that will give students opportunities to help and improve the local society. If you have any ideas feel free to drop us an email! 🙂
13Caroline Gee 6SLT Community - External
Hey there, my name is Caroline Gee and I am your External Community Lead. I am currently taking Maths, Business and Product Design. My role is to help Hayesfield students integrate with the surrounding community. I aim to provide projects and events where pupils can give back to, and form relationships with the community. Please feel free to email me, or to come and talk to me about any of your ideas or opinions!! :))
13Georgina Edney 6SLT Character Mentors
Hi! My name is Georgina Edney and I am taking A Levels in PE, Maths, Geography and Biology. I play Hockey and Netball and I would like to go into a career in sport and teaching. I am one of the Character Mentors within the new 6SLT. Within this role I hope to further develop a peer mentoring system which encompasses a wide range of academic and wellbeing mentoring in order to build self confidence. This will focus on students who require support in their subjects and students who want to push themselves further. My aim is to ensure that students feel supported in their academics and well being so they strive for success.
13Jazz Vale 6SLT Character Mentors
Hello! I'm Jazz Vale and I am one of the Character Mentors in 6SLT. I'm taking Spanish, History and English Lit for my A Levels, and in my spare time I love to play guitar and study Classics, which I am currently on the journey to pursuing at university. As Character Mentor, I aim to get Hayesfield's peer mentoring system up and running, with our dedicated team of mentors offering support across all subjects. I believe it is 6SLT's job to help connect Sixth Form with all younger students, so feel free to come to me with any suggestions or ideas or drop me an email. I look forward to working with you all!
