As we near the end of Year 10, it is important that we start to prepare our students for their GCSE exams by providing opportunities for formal assessments in exam conditions. From Monday 6th June, students will be completing assessments in most of their subjects.
Whilst most of these will be completed in class time, we are also providing the opportunity for a formal Sports Hall exam experience in some subjects. This will mirror the reality of the GCSE exams next summer so that they can get used to sitting exams in this space.
These opportunities to sit exams in a formal examination space will enable students to develop:
- Strategies to cope with an exam situation and develop their exam technique
- Skills to manage their time effectively in the exam
- Successful revision strategies
- Confidence in future exams
Please note that morning start times will be confirmed in due course, but we expect all students to be in school at 8:30am on days where they have morning exams and should expect to finish at 3:15pm for afternoon sessions.
Teachers will share topic lists and Personal Learning Checklists so that she knows where to focus her revision. There is also an Exam Support Booklet with lots of useful information and support to help guide revision, as well as a list of the equipment needed for each exam.
