Anne Banks, Head of Sixth Form
Message from Head of Sixth Form Anne Banks
Whether you are already a student at Hayesfield School, or are at another school contemplating a change for your sixth form education, you will find a wide range of opportunities here. We are a successful and expanding co-educational Sixth Form and are committed to the pursuit of high standards. We aim to provide our students with the opportunity to widen their interests as well as their knowledge, and to work together for the benefit of the wider community as well as for themselves.
While the majority of our students are ‘home-grown’, each year we welcome an increasing number of students, male and female, who successfully join us from other schools. Our students who stay on benefit from the fact that we know each other, but all students enjoy the same teaching by experienced and dynamic staff. Now that you are considering your education post-16, you will probably have many questions to which you want answers. This prospectus should start to answer some of those questions. You have serious decisions to make and we want to support you in this process.

Courses
Please follow the links to individual subjects to find out more. We offer over 30 A level subjects, a one-year level 2 BTec course in Health & Social Care and of course the International Baccalaureate (see separate entry).

A new Sports Hall and Performing Arts Centre will be completed at the start of 2011. The centre will have a 350 seat theatre, music rooms, fitness suite and a large refectory. The old hall is being converted into a dance studio with new sprung floor and the old gym into a new art room with photo studio.
We are a member of the Bath Education Trust which offers the opportunity to share resources with other establishments, Beechen Cliff School, City of Bath College and Bath University.Destinations
The majority of our Y13 students go on to Higher Education, either directly, via an Art Foundation course, or after a Gap year. Extensive advice and support is given to students about and throughout the Higher Education process.
