English Schools Athletics – County Round
Our athletes made a fantastic start to their Athletics season this week at the Avon Schools competition. Both Junior and Senior teams scored a fantastic amount of points and we are awaiting to hear if we have qualified for the Regional round of the competition!
Tennis
Well Done to Rafaela (9AL), Amelie (10AR), Evie (10EL) and Megan (9PL) who travelled to Monkton to play the first tennis fixture of the season. It didn’t take the girls long to get into their stride with Rafaela and Amelie starting with a doubles game and Evie and Megan playing singles games. Coming out with two wins and a narrow loss in the first set of games. Next up Evie and Megan played their doubles game, coming out with a strong win. Rafaela and Amelie played their singles games coming out with a win and a narrow loss. Well done to all four girls on your performances!
Cricket Tournament at MSN CC
Congratulations to all the students who represented Hayesfield at the annual cricket Chance to Shine tournament. We entered 2, U13 teams and an U15 team who all played brilliantly against other BANES schools.
The U13 Black team came 3rd overall after narrowly missing out on a finals place against the other Hayesfield team. They drew with Wellsway in games but they went through on wickets taken. Hayesfield Purple team were victorious in all their games. The final was close but Hayesfield came out on top and were crowned U13 BANES champions. The U15 team also made the finals but lost out by a narrow margin in runs to Wellsway who were overall winners. Lots of players of the matches, great bowling and lots of 4's scored. Well done to everyone!
