Our Vision
I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.
Oscar Wilde
We believe that students deserve a broad and ambitious Drama curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge, which ignites curiosity, is culturally enriching and, for many, prepares them well for future learning or employment.
Being a girls’ school, with key values of self-confidence, resilience and limitless aspirations, we aim to extend the content of Spoken English in the KS3 English National Curriculum through separate Drama provision, delivered by our specialist team. Our Drama curriculum is rich and rewarding and allows all our students to foster a life-long love of live performances in their many and varied forms, expressing themselves creatively and, for many, performing for pleasure. Through exploring a wide range of stories, texts, techniques, practitioners, stimuli and issues they secure a better understanding of different societies, cultures and history, discovering characters, plots and themes to help shape their own dramatic storytelling so that it is both imaginative and engaging.
