Hayesfield Girls’ School Year 11 Students Shine Bright with Outstanding GCSE Results

Hayesfield Girls’ School is proud to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students, who have once again achieved exceptional GCSE results. Their success reflects not only academic ability but also the determination, resilience and spirit that have defined this remarkable year group.

Having begun their secondary education during the global pandemic, these students have shown that COVID does not define them. Instead, they have risen above challenges, supported by their teachers, parents and carers, to prove what dedication, community and perseverance can achieve. Together, they have continued Hayesfield’s tradition of “smashing ceilings”.

This year, nearly 40% of students achieved an impressive five or more grades at Grade 7 and above, with more than 20% of the year group achieving 8 or more grades at that level. Over 40% of all grades were at Grade 7 – 9, compared with 22% nationally. An impressive 80% of students achieved at least a Grade 4 in both English and Maths, this compares with 67% nationally, opening doors to their next steps in education and beyond.

Headteacher Philip White said:
“We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. These results are a testament to their determination and the excellent teaching and support from our dedicated staff. Despite the challenges faced over the last few years, our students have shown remarkable perseverance, and it has been wonderful to come together to celebrate their success. These results continue to position our school as one of the highest performing girls’ state schools in the country.”

With the support of their families, carers and staff, Hayesfield students are now looking forward with confidence to the next stage in their educational journeys. Many will progress to A-Levels, vocational training or apprenticeships, building on the strong foundations gained at Hayesfield.

The future is bright for the Class of 2025.
