Key Dates
Please find below the key dates and information regarding your daughter’s transition to Year 7.
Year 6 Welcome Evening
Thursday 11th June 2026 – 4.45pm – 7.00pm
West Wing, Upper Oldfield Park Campus
We are delighted to invite you to the Year 6 Welcome Evening, where we will launch our transition programme. This is an opportunity to meet some of the key staff who will be working with your daughter and find out more information about the next steps on her Hayesfield journey. You will also receive a copy of our Year 7 Transition Handbook.
The evening is split into two parts – a presentation in the Roper Theatre from key staff followed by refreshments in the Refectory and an opportunity to speak to some students and staff and find out more information about some key areas including: payment system, LEAP (enrichment activities), uniform and instrumental tuition. Whilst the evening is predominantly aimed at parents, your daughter is very welcome to join us.
Unfortunately, we do not have room for additional family members, so we ask that (where possible) siblings do not attend. As we are unable to accommodate everyone in the Roper Theatre at once, there will be two presentation sessions available:
Presentation A – Arrive at 4.45pm to the West Wing, Upper Oldfield Park Campus
Staff will direct you to The Roper Theatre for the Presentation.
If you arrive after the Presentation has begun, you will be able to talk to staff and students in the refectory where refreshments will be available. You can then join the later Presentation at 5.45pm.
Presentation B – Arrive at 5.45pm to the West Wing, Upper Oldfield Park Campus
Staff will direct you to The Roper Theatre for the Presentation.
Parking
Parking is a challenge for big events as we do not have the capacity to offer parking on site and parking on the surrounding roads is extremely limited. It is important to allow time to park further away from the school and walk to the campus.

Year 5 Welcome Morning
Date: Friday 19th June and Friday 26th June
Time: 9.30am – 11.00am
Location: Upper Oldfield Park Campus
We are delighted to invite parents and carers of current Year 5 pupils to our Open Morning. This is an excellent opportunity to experience our school community and see a typical school day in action. Visitors will be able to take part in a guided tour of the school, visit lessons, and gain an insight into the opportunities and experiences available to our students.
Following the tours, our Headteacher will give a short presentation about the school, after which there will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about life at our school. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.

There is no parking on site for any of our Open Events and so we recommend you plan an extra few minutes to park and walk to the campus.
Please note that we will also be hosting our official Open Day and Open Evening events in September. These events will be advertised shortly and will not require advance booking. As larger, more formal occasions, they will include guided tours, presentations from senior staff, and opportunities to meet and speak with members of our wider school community.
Sporting and Musical Aptitude Tests
Entries for 2027/2028 applications will be open on Friday 19th June 2026.
These will take place on Monday 5th October from 3.45pm 2026.
Sporting Aptitude Tests
This comprises of a fitness assessment
lasting approximately 1 hour
This test, which is not a test of sporting ability, will involve a series of tests of the following components of fitness: agility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, speed, strength and reaction time.
Musical Aptitude Tests
This is an aural test
lasting approximately 20 minutes
The test will involve listening to, and answering, a series of questions on pitch, rhythm and meter. This test will examine the candidate’s capacity to perceive, evaluate and describe music.
