Induction Day for new Year 7 Students

Thursday 2nd July 2026
Upper Oldfield Park Campus & Brougham Hayes Campus

We hope you found the Parents’ Information Evening on Thursday 11th June informative. Please find above the slides from the evening for your information. We are looking forward to your daughter joining us for her Induction Day on Thursday 2nd July and would like to take the opportunity to share more information with you about what she should expect on her day with us.

Your daughter will have a variety of lessons and activities following the timings of the school day. The major focus of the day for all students is to spend time getting to know their new year group and for staff to answer as many of their questions as possible!

Timings for the day and Information

8.20am – Your daughter needs to arrive at the Brougham Hayes Campus where she will be met by a team of Year 7 buddies and Hayesfield staff who will escort her to the hall for the start of the day. We ask parents/carers to drop their daughters off and leave promptly. Please note that there is no on-site parking, and it does get very busy around both school sites at the start and end of the school day; please take this into account when planning your journeys and consider parking further away or walking to the school.

3.00pm – Your daughter will finish her day at the Upper Oldfield Park Campus and leave the building by the West Wing entrance. We ask that parents wait outside please.

Event What to Expect
Primary School Visits May/June 2026 Transition Lead for Year 7 will be liaising with your daughter’s Year 6 teacher to ensure we have a full picture of your daughter’s experience at her primary school before her starting with us. The girls will be able to indicate their friendship preferences during their meeting with the Transition Lead.

You will have access to subsequent information on our website and a contact email to ask any further questions you may have at this point. You will be sent further details about this event nearer the time. The evening starts at 5pm and will conclude at 7.30pm. We will offer each family a time slot to arrive during this time and a letter will follow shortly.
The Handbook The Handbook is full of really useful information for you about joining the Hayesfield community. It contains all the key information you and your daughter will need to make a successful start to life at Hayesfield. You will receive a copy of this at the Welcome Evening and we suggest that you read this thoroughly with your daughter over the coming weeks.

Enhanced Transfer Support

We understand that moving from primary to secondary school can be a significant change, especially for students with specific learning or emotional needs. To help ensure a smooth and positive transition, we offer tailored support for Year 6 girls who have been identified by their primary school as requiring additional assistance.

Our Enhanced Transition Programme provides an extra visit, familiarisation activities, and emotional support to help your daughter feel confident and prepared for this next step. If your child has an existing identified need and would benefit from this additional support, please complete the sign-up form below.

In addition to the support provided for students, we will also be hosting a presentation for parents and carers. This session will outline the specific support available, explain how it is delivered, and provide guidance on how you can access and engage with us to support your daughter’s learning. Details of the presentation, including date and time, will be shared following sign-up.

Together, we can help make this transition a successful and supported experience – Enhanced Transition Support Google Form
