OUR SCHOOL
Climate Committee
The Climate Committee at Hayesfield Girls’ School is a key student-led initiative focused on promoting environmental sustainability and tackling climate change within the school community. Students from various year groups serve as representatives, with the committee being driven by members of the Sixth Form Leadership Team (6SLT), including a dedicated Climate Lead.
Their work involves practical projects such as increasing recycling efforts on both school sites and engaging in discussions with catering staff regarding sustainable menus and ingredient sourcing. They also organize larger events, such as the school’s annual Climate Conference, which brings together students and local sustainability groups to explore themes like “Small Changes Make a Big Difference.”
