School Vision and Values
At Hayesfield, we believe that belonging is the foundation for success. When students feel accepted, supported and part of something bigger than themselves, they are more likely to engage in school life, develop positive relationships and achieve their potential.
Belonging is not created through a single programme or event. It is built through daily experiences, meaningful relationships and opportunities to participate fully in school life. It is the feeling of being welcomed, included and encouraged to contribute.
We want every student to find their place within our community. For some, this may be through a club, a sports team or a leadership role. For others, it may be through performing on stage, participating in a house competition, taking part in a residential trip or simply finding a group of friends with shared interests. What matters is that every student has opportunities to connect, contribute and grow.
Our approach is intentionally designed to provide a wide range of experiences that encourage students to explore new interests, challenge themselves and develop the confidence to lead. Through these experiences, students build the character, skills and values that will support them throughout their lives.

Values
At the heart of everything we do are our five Hayesfield values:
Readiness and Respect

Reflected in daily expectations to be punctual, smart, well-equipped, and respectful listeners. These foundational habits ensure a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where everyone feels a strong sense of community and belonging.
Self-Confidence

Drawing from Jane Austen’s insight –“It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do” – students are encouraged to work independently, take initiative, express their voice, and step forward into leadership roles.
Resilience

Reflected in Amelia Earhart’s words –“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity” – this value instills determination, encouraging students to overcome setbacks, tackle new challenges, and persevere without giving up easily.
Together, these values help create a culture where students feel they belong, are encouraged to be themselves and are empowered to make a positive difference in the world around them.
