WELLBEING AT HAYESFIELD SIXTH
Pastoral Care
Our team support any personal, social, wellbeing or academic need to ensure that every student can achieve their ambitions.
We Support Needs
At Hayesfield, we pride ourselves on our pastoral support. Every student in every year group is directly supported by their Director of Achievement, a full-time non-teaching Pastoral Manager and a form tutor. They are also indirectly supported by our in-house Education Welfare Officers, Attendance Officer, Healthcare team and SENDCO team. As such, every student has a team around them that works tirelessly to ensure that we build character and we support needs.
In short, we have the highest expectations of our students, but we also have the very highest expectations of ourselves. We actively engender a compassionate and caring environment in which our students can readily turn to us, and each other, for support.
We value working in partnership with our parents and carers.

We are extremely proud of our wellbeing offer here at Hayesfield. Our four full-time non teaching Pastoral Managers, alongside our Pastoral Administrator, are trained extensively to detect and support any kind of issue that a student may be dealing with.
Over the years we have used this training to develop a support system that not only intervenes for students who are facing serious difficulties, but guides students who face relatively minor difficulties.
We use many external agencies (see ‘levels 2-4’ of our wellbeing offer) in our support structure, but we are particularly proud of our in-house wellbeing support as it focuses on two key concepts: pre-emptive support and early intervention. (see ‘level 1 of our wellbeing offer)
