Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Lessons
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest Drama Schools in the world and they have offered exams in speech and drama since the 1890’s. Today, students can take exams as varied as Speaking in Public, Devising and even Mime. However, the most popular solo exams are Acting, Speaking in Public and Speaking Verse and Prose.
Music Lessons
The Music Department is delighted to offer instrumental lessons during the school day at a cost of £22.75 per lesson, 30 lessons are offered across the academic year. West of England Music & Arts provide teachers for Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Drum and Singing lessons. Please contact them via their online form on their website.
For all other instruments such as Piano, Guitar (Classical, Acoustic, Bass or Electric), Trumpet, and Violin, please find below the Instrumental lesson handbook and Booking form.
Students are expected to practice their instrument every day and to take part in assemblies and other performances when they arise. Parents are encouraged to support their daughter in practising their instrument regularly and attending performances.

Drama Lessons
LAMDA also offers grades which are a carefully constructed journey where the student builds on their confidence and self-belief as they progress. Exam grades start at Entry Level and (like music grades) progress up to Grade 8. From Grade 6, credits count towards UCAS points and lessons can also be used as a skill that contributes towards Duke of Edinburgh awards.
LAMDA lessons are fun, engaging and can help unlock and promote students’ full potential and develop confidence. They build interpersonal skills that enable effective communication and self-expression, while supporting creativity and imagination and complimenting all areas of learning.
Stephanie Harrison, an established actor and voice over artist, provides 30-minute lessons. These lessons can be offered to either pairs or individuals. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Mid-Somerset Festival in Bath as well as at school events.
LAMDA lessons will cost £25.00 per lesson for solo students (£250.00 for a 10-week term) or £15.00 each per lesson for pairs (£150.00 each for a 10-week term). Pupil Premium support is also available.
