Dear Prospective Parents and Carers
I am delighted that you are considering Hayesfield as the secondary school of choice for your daughter.
Choosing the right secondary school for your child is a big decision and we know that many parents who live in Bath and its surrounding environs start actively exploring all available schools with their daughter from Year 4 onwards. It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that, in these times of COVID-19, opportunities to visit Hayesfield are limited. This year, it is with a heavy heart that I ask that any events that require physically visiting the school during September are reserved for students who will be in Year 6 in the 2020-21 Academic Year only.
There are lots of other ways to find out about our school other than by visiting us. Our students and staff were very creative during the period of partial school closure in the Spring and Summer of 2020, to ensure that we all remained feeling part of our Hayesfield community. We have lots of videos that were created during this period of national challenge on our Hayesfied YouTube channel and I would encourage all families to take a look at the following productions in particular, which give you a real insight into our unique school culture.
Hayesfield Sports Day
Hayesfield Summer Gala
On our website you will also find details of our examination results and our weekly School Bulletins, please read these to gain a flavour of what life at Hayesfield is all about. Please see below for our Open Events for the admission of students into Year 7 for the Academic Year 2021-22.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries. If you scroll down to the Autumn term Open events you will find a link to a form, which we are asking all interested parties to complete. We can then contact you directly and update you if we are allowed to change our plans and welcome more visitors to our school.

Autumn Term Open Events for September 2021 Admissions into Year 7
Due to the COVID-19 situation, we have had to cancel our scheduled Opening Evening. However, we anticipate being able to offer admission to an alternative event, The Headteacher’s Evening for Prospective Parents, for a reduced number of parents and their daughter in Year 6 only under strict social distancing measures.
The Headteacher’s Evenings are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 15th September and Thursday 17th September 2020. During the evening one prospective parent and their daughter in Year 6 will be able to hear from the Headteacher and Hayesfield students about life at our school. Booking will be by strict appointment only.
If you have a daughter who is currently in Year 5 and you wish to visit the school please register your interest by also clicking on the link above. We can then contact you to keep you up to date about other opportunities available to visit us.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, I have to regretfully inform you that we are currently unable to hold our scheduled Open Morning on Friday 18th September 2020 and our Open Afternoon on Thursday 8th October 2020. However, if you want to meet some of our staff, please take a look at our Hayesfield YouTube channel and watch the videos that our subject staff prepared to welcome our new students into Year 7. There is also a welcome to new year 7 students from me and a tour of the Brougham Hayes and Upper Oldfield Park Campus, led by Mr White and Mr Powell.
