The Hayesfield Royal Navy Combined cadet Force uses military training to develop character as well as teach self-reliance, leadership and other skills. The focus is very much on skills development and fun.
The focus here will be on ‘afloat’ activities and leadership. You will have a chance to go on some fantastic courses where you will learn to operate a powerboat, develop seamanship and navigation skills and experience other water borne activities such as canoeing, raft building, try a scuba dive, as well as some land based activities.
We started our contingent in 2017/18 and since then have grown in numbers, now over 40 cadets strong. We have been on several trips including a stay on the Hindustan at HMS Dartmouth where we developed our seamanship and teamwork skills, had a go at firefighting and repairing a sinking ship at HMS Raleigh, plus trips up to the Cotswold Water Park for some afloat activities.
We also participate in the annual Remembrance Day Parade held in Bath and celebrate Trafalgar Night with a delicious three-course dinner and disco.
If you want to find out more about what we do then please contact any of the following, or ask one of our cadets (you’ll see them in their uniform on Thursdays)
Lieutentant (Lt) Cording (Miss Cording)
Sub Lt Jefferies (Miss Jefferies)
Sub Lt Yates (Miss Yates)
